29 CFR 1926.652(b)(2):Maximum allowable slopes, and allowable configurations for sloping and benching systems, was not determined in accordance with the conditions and requirements set forth in Appendices A and B to this subpart. a) Trench: On or about December 19, 2024, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to struck-by hazards, in that the employer failed to maintain the 18 inches of protection above the vertical sides of the excavation while employees were installing a culvert pipe for a drainage system that was located approximately 16.6 feet below the surface.
