29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about January 8, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that some form of effective guarding was being utilized along a multi-stage plastic sheet extrusion line (manufactured by: Shanghai Long Shanfeng Machine Co. Ltd.), to protect employees from hazards such as but not limited to: moving parts, ingoing nip points, and rotating parts. The operator and employees were not protected and exposed to hazards including, but not limited to: ingoing nip points, thermal heat, and rotating parts of the rollers along the production line.
