29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. a) Facility: On or about 1/22/2025, the employer did not ensure that machinery, including but not limited to the Guide Bridle/Slitting Head of Line #4 was adequately guarded. There were unguarded in-going pinch points between the Hold Rings and the rotating pinch rollers, and at the point of operation between the knives and the steel sheets being cut.
