29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): The employer did not ensure that walking-working surfaces are inspected, regularly and as necessary, and maintained in a safe condition:   a.  On or about February 12, 2025, at the outdoors dispatching/staging area. Employees are exposed to slip and fall hazards due to uneven and cracked gravel floor surfaces, loose tent screws, and a 2-inches height side walk curb while loading and unloading mail and packages on the Long Life Vehicles (LLV) delivery trucks using canvas (mail hamper carts), Gaylor pallets, general purpose containers (GPC), manual pallet jacks and hand trucks.   NOTE 1 : The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.22(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1676440, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 02-18-2025, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service Rutherford, 156 Park Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070.  NOTE 2: U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1629841, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 01-04-2023 with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service Girard, 113 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417.   NOTE 3: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

NOTE 1 : The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.22(a)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1787551, citation number 1, item number 1and was affirmed as a final order on 04-17-2025, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service - South County Branch, 5636 Telegraph Road, Saint Louis, MO 63129  NOTE 2: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
