29 CFR 1910.136(a): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses protective footwear when working in areas where there is a danger of foot injuries due to falling or rolling objects, or when the use of protective footwear will protect the affected employee from an electrical hazard, such as a or electric-shock hazard, that remains after the employer takes other necessary protective measures : A) Fisher Scientific Company, L.L.C-755 Route 202 N, Bridgewater, NJ 08807- Production Room- On or about 2/11/2025 the employer failed to ensure that employees utilized the provided personal protective equipment (PPE), specifically static-dissipative footwear, when exposed to hazards such as static electricity and potential ignition sources. During maintenance activities on a capper machine, an employee was not wearing appropriate static-dissipative footwear. This lack of compliance resulted in an ignition flame erupting, exposing the employee to a significant fire hazard.
