29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Production area - On or about March 13, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the entire saw blade was guarded except for the working portion of the blade of the Knuth Machine Tools ABS 350 B Metal Cutting Horizontal Band Saw, SN 2821, thereby exposing employees to cut hazards that may result in lacerations and amputation. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
