29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system: a) On or about 3/14/2025 at renovation project located at 187 Southside Parkway, Buffalo, New York; employees were replacing a flat roof on commercial building. The employer was using a safety monitoring system and all employees were engaged in work activities and did not have a monitor actively or adequately observing employees or correcting fall hazards on the roof. Employee were exposed to falls in excess of 30 feet. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED O'Connor Contracting of WNY Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1724943, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/2/2024, with respect to a workplace located at 950 Broadway, Buffalo, New York.
