OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to caught between or caught in hazards due to having a body part under the load:   On or about March 14, 2025, inside the Shop Building by the big tractor area, an employee was injured while lowering the rear cap of the John Deere Tractor, Model Number 9630, Serial Number RW9630P001322, back on the tractor frame, and allow the cab to return to its normal resting position after replacing the gudgeon hinge pins and bushings. The cab was jacked up by the Torin Big Red Bottle Jack 20 Ton Air/Hydraulic Model Number TA92006, Serial Number RG0015-LB0035. The employee's left middle finger was pinned between the cab and the frame of the tractor. The amputation of tip of the middle finger on the left hand occurred due to the malfunction of the Torin Jack, upon opening the release valve, the cab descended rapidly to pin the finger.  Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods include enforcing and ensuring no body part is ever under a load in accordance with the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers - ASME Standard B30.1 -2.9.4 2009 Cautions to Personnel, (b) Personnel shall not place any part of their body under a load supported by a jack.
