29 CFR 1926.701(b):Reinforcing steel. All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and into which employees could fall, shall be guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement. a) On or about 03/13/2025, during the process of erecting and installing rebar for a new aeration tank at the Webster Water Treatment Plant, the employer did not enforce the use of rebar protective caps, and allowed employees to work 16 feet above lower levels and above protruding #8 reinforcing rebar, exposing employees to impalement hazards. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATGION REQUIRED
