NOTE: Construction Reference: 1926.59 The requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth at § 1910.1200 of this chapter. 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) a) On 21 April 2025, employee(s) mixing caustic (pH>11.5) Brixment Type N Masonry Cement and/or Sakrete High Strength Concrete Mix were not trained in the hazards of these workplace chemicals and and how wearing eye protection (i.e., safety glasses) can protect against such hazardous exposures. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
