29 CFR 1915.158(b)(1): When work was being performed on floating vessels 200 feet or more in length, at least three 30-inch U.S. Coast Guard approved ring life buoys with lines attached were not located in readily visible and accessible places. DDG, USS Momsen, P6N, gangway access: On or about May 5th, 2025, and at times prior thereto, employee(s) engaged in welding, sandblasting and installation operation( s ). In access to the gangway, the line for the ring life buoy was tied around the gangway multiple times and the life ring was hanging off the gangway. This condition potentially exposed employee(s) to delayed response time in rescue operation(s).
