The employer shall not permit respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function.  On or about May 29, 2025, at a facility located at 1103 Grossman Drive in Schofield, Wisconsin; the employer permitted Maintenance Technicians to wear tight-fitting, full-face respirators with facial hair between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face. The employees were required to wear the respirators while working on the ammonia refrigeration system (ARS).
