OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees are exposed to struck-by hazards. On or about July 15, 2025, in the pipe yard; workers were rolling casing pipes to load them on a forklift when the pipes rolled over the employee's leg. a. Employees rolling pipe were not protected from casing rolling over them as there were standing on the casing stack. b. Employees were not kept clear of forklifts while casing was being loaded, allowing for the casing to strike the forklift and then roll back towards the employees. Sooner, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of the OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1555830, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 5, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 21348 HWY 6 & 24 in Rifle, CO 81650.
