OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees a) On or about July 23, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that the guardrail opening on the working platform used to change the coil holder at the #1 exit pit 5 pickler was equipped with a top rail and midrail, exposing employees to fall hazards of greater than 17 feet into the pit below. b) On or before July 23, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that the guardrail opening on the working platform used to change the coil holders in the pickler department, had a self-closing swing gate that swung away from the hole, exposing employees to fall hazards of greater than 17 feet into the pit below.
