29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1):Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a. On or about August 05, 2025, at 80 Oxford Rd. Fern Park, FL: the employer did not ensure that cave in protection was installed in a 9 foot deep trench, with near vertical wall in type c soil, while employees installed a concrete drain box and drain pipes, exposing employees to cave in and suffocation hazards. Masci Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1586225, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 25, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 3401 S Orlando Dr. Sanford, Fl 32771.
