1910.147(c)(4)(i) Procedures shall be developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees are engaged in the activities covered by this section. a) Jobsite: 2501 Margaret Street, Philadelphia PA, Oxidation 501 Area -On or about September 13, 2025, the employer failed to develop a system of controls to prevent unintended steam release and thermal burn injuries where employees worked with piping systems.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performs any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment would be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative. a) Jobsite: 2501 Margaret Street, Philadelphia PA, Oxidation 501 Area -On or about September 13, 2025 - The employer did not establish a program for the control of hazardous energy to protect employees required to service and maintain machines and equipment, such as the release of stored steam, thereby exposing the employees to thermal burns.
