A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress was not located in trench excavations that are 4 feet (1.22 m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62 m) of lateral travel for employees. a-Babcock & Wanaque Place, Pompton Lakes NJ 07442: An employee was observed in an excavation of approximately 10ft width by 12ft with a length with a measured depth of 6'6" deep excavation. The employee was exposed to cave-in hazards as a means of access and egress was located outside of the excavation not within the excavation. Condition observed on or about 02/19/2026. SCS Contracting Inc, Inc was previously cited for serious violations of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1751309, Citation # 1, Item # 1, issued on 07/08/2024 with respect to a workplace located at 600 Route 17N, Ramsey NJ 07446.
