29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3): Training program content. Powered industrial truck operators shall receive initial training in the following topics as required by 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3)(i)(A) - (M), except in topics which the employer can demonstrate are not applicable to safe operation of the truck in the employer's workplace. On or about March 1, 2026, to April 17, 2026, at an establishment located at 836 South 20th Street in Manitowoc, Wisconsin; the employer did not ensure that Pattern Clerk employees and backup operators operating the Aisle Master 44SE forklifts were properly trained on the truck-related topics relevant to the articulating front end and controls of the vehicles. The operators were not evaluated and certified to perform work-related tasks in a safe manner, thereby exposing employees to struck and crushed-by hazards created by falling loads.
