29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: a) Shop Floor: On or about May 1, 2026 and at times prior, the left-side tongue guard on a Dayton Model 4Z908D bench grinder was adjusted greater than one-fourth inch from the abrasive wheel, exposing employees to struck-by hazards from wheel fragments or workpieces. b) Shop Floor: On or about May 1, 2026 and at times prior, the right-side tongue guard on a Dayton Model 4Z908D bench grinder was adjusted greater than one-fourth inch from the abrasive wheel, exposing employees to struck-by hazards from wheel fragments or workpieces. No abatement certification or documentation required.
