An employee and a coworker were rolling a cylindrical cyclone hopper down a passageway when the hopper became unbalanced and started to fall. As the employee attempted to catch and re-steady the hopper, his left pinky finger got caught between a metal flange on the hopper and a permanently fixed metal pipe of the building. The employee injured the left pinky finger; the fingertip was amputated at the hospital.
