Final narrative
An employee was cutting a 2x4 on a table saw using a push stick. After the 2x4 was cut, the employee attempted to retrieve, by hand, a small piece of scrap wood that cleared the guard. As the employee attempted to push the piece of wood through with his left thumb, the wood caught the blade and pulled his left ring finger into the blade amputating the tip.
