An employee and a coworker were lifting a stone so that it could be hooked to and lifted by a forklift. The coworker used hand-operated suction cups to lift the stone while the employee used their hands. A suction cup came loose and the stone dropped and smashed the employee's left hand, resulting in the amputation of his left index fingertip.
