On April 16, 2023, an employee was testing a sample of fuel oil at the laboratory. During sample handling, the exposed employee was shaking the can of liquid when the top cap of the can fell off. Fuel oil splashed onto his face, resulting in superficial burns to the nose that required hospitalization.
