An employee used a crane to move a steel bundle onto the roller of a saw. After the bundle was on the roller, the crane was unhooked and moved away. The employee then moved the 15-foot-long L-shaped steel piece from the bundle and straightened it out on the roller to get ready to cut. While doing so, his right ring finger was pinched between the piece of steel and the roller, requiring surgical amputation of the fingertip.
