Employees were moving a steel beam, approximately 24 inches by 25 feet, from the sandblast area to the paint shop using an overhead crane. They set the beam down on steel sawhorses. One employee detached one chain from the beam and the injured employee detached the other. As they were lifting the chain out of the way, the hook caught on the beam, causing it to flip. The beam fell onto the injured employee causing bilateral femur fractures and a fractured hip.
