An employee drove a forklift toward a tag printer mounted on a column at the shipping dock. They reached to retrieve a printer tag and their left thumb was pinned between the printer table and the exterior frame of the forklift. The employee sustained a displaced fracture of the distal phalanx of the left thumb, and partial amputation of the thumb.
