An employee was pulling a 400-foot run of rope using a wire-pulling machine. After 300 feet of the rope was pulled, it became bound around the capstan. The employee was showing a foreman the issue when the employee's left little finger got pinched between the rope and capstan, resulting in amputation of the finger.
