Employee had used a tool to loosen the heat treat trays to prepare the trays to be picked up and moved. The operator was preparing to pick up trays from a cart below shoulder level and remove the powder contents from the tray.

The operator placed his left had on empty heat treat tray to move it. Operator looked the opposite direction and extended his right arm outward to place a tool on a bench and unexpectedly pulled slid the 13-pound empty tray from the cart. Operator felt a pain in his left shoulder accompanied with numbness and tingling to the digits of his left hand if he moved this left arm in an outward motion.
