Employee was investigating leaking chemical pump.

Maintenance employee and one engineering employee were completing a walk of the zinc line when the engineering employee noticed a drip coming from the acid pump when he turned it on. The engineering employee then shut the acid pump off and closed a valve to stop the drip. He called the maintenance employee over to demonstrate where the leak was. Manufacturing engineer then reactivated the pump with the maintenance manager standing back and to the right. When the pump was reactivated the pump sprayed acid on both the maintenance employee and the manufacturing engineer. Failure point was indicated to be the top of the compression fitting.
