Before the incident
While performing a glue spreader startup injured employee could not remove the front grill as it was stuck and called for maintenance assistance Together with the maintenance technician they attempted to remove the infeed grill from the machine When the grilled got unstuck Employees left thumb finger got pinched between the top of the grill and the machine frame resulting in a laceration on the tip of his finger IE reported incident to Manager and Medcor was contacted Medcor gave selfcare instructions to employee and referred him to be seen by a doctor in the [REDACTED] due to employee reporting the finger was very swollen [REDACTED] was wearing nitrile gloves at the time of the incident
