What happened
One [REDACTED] a new trainee was working on line 2 bending over to get and fold a box. Whenever they stood back up they heard their back pop causing shooting pain down their right side. Employee was experiencing severe back pain so first aid was administered - iceand rest and over the counter ibuprofen. The employee was then seen at the local clinic on [REDACTED] and was given restrictions that fit within a new hire 's essential job functions thus not making it an OSHA recordable. On the [REDACTED] of [REDACTED] the employee called the EHS manager stating they could not get out of bed without assistance and insisted on going to the ER for treatment although anappointment at the same local clinic was offered. The ER prescribed the employee pain medication but no restrictions thus making [REDACTED] OSHA recordable case as of [REDACTED]. Due to the type of medicine prescribed the employee is currently unable to come in to work
