What happened
On the day of injury the care giver was disassembling a complex piece of surgical instrumentation and wile disassembling the equipment the instrument slipped and the sharp distal portion of the instrument poked the Left index finger penetrating the glove and skin. A small amount of blood was noted about one drop. after removal of the glove the hands were thoroughly washed. The site did not bleed further. Injury was reported the next day.
