What happened
3 Packaging ees were banding standup R.T.S. coils at the 60 [REDACTED] Pack line turnstile. [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] placed the ID bands on the stand up coils and banded the first ID band on the coil. [REDACTED] was off to the side at the coil cart operator panel. [REDACTED] went to use the combo bander on the second ID band [REDACTED] had their left hand near the coil and id band. As [REDACTED] was using the tensioner on the combo bander [REDACTED] left hand got caught under the band. [REDACTED] pulled their hand away and had a deep laceration on their left pointer finger. [REDACTED] released the combo bander and assisted [REDACTED] on their injury. [REDACTED] went to the hospital and received stitches and the finger is broken as well. The diagnosis from the doctor was an amputation but the they were able to stitch the finger back together. The injured employee has a follow up meeting [REDACTED] to see if the tip of the finger they stitched up is still alive. The injured employee wil
