What happened
While attempting to remove a bearing from a roll 52 using a two-prong bearing puller with the left hand the employee used a hammer with the right hand to tap the bearing to assist the puller as they operated it. During this process striking the top of the bearing caused it to shatter sending metal fragments flying. One of these fragments struck the employee 's left forearm.
