replacing two bad bearings on our Vertical IG

Two maintenance technician was in the process of replacing two bad bearings on our [REDACTED] washer. The equipment was locked out and deenergized. However while trying to remove the old bearing manually from the brush due to the weight of the brush it came down on the technician ring finger which result in a lost of a fingernail tip (fingertip amputation without bone loss). The technician was taken to the ER where he received five stiches and was prescribed antibiotic and was scheduled for a follow up visit
