EE was cutting flat strap on the band saw.
What happened
Maintenance tech smashed pinky of left hand by moveable vise jaw of band saw. Tech 1- operating the control panel from the west side of the table went to the back of the piece of flat strap to straighten it out at this time from the east side of the table the injured tech placed his left hand on top of the piece of metal in the vicinity of the jaws when he looked up to pull the button to close the vice his pinky finger was caught between the flat strap and moveable vise jaw. the flat plate steel was 4 wide and 19 feet long the roll table from blade to end is 12 feet long. The flat strap overhung the roller table by 6.5 ft. RECORDABLE INJURY
