patient handling

Description of Occurrence*: [REDACTED] [REDACTED] (Electronic Report) I was moving a patient in bed using his chuck pad and an orange slider in order to turn him to apply his wound vac when I felt a tugging sensation in my right shoulder. It was my last patient of the day and I went home afterwards and took ibuprofen which helped somewhat. The following day I traveled to Mary Black hospital to complete my quarterly RQI assessment. While doing the compressions on the mannequin I noticed the mannequin was somewhat harder to compress and had to use more force. By the time I returned home the pain had increased significantly. I took a muscle relaxer with no relief and notified my nurse manager the following morning. Activity Before Incident: turning patient in bed rqi mannequin compressions
