Before the incident

What happened
The 3rd-shift Tempering team lead was attempting to replace a band on a quench roller when the quench suddenly started to roll forward. His left hand was pulled in between the band and the pulley. The maintenance technician was able to halt the rollers so he could extricate his hand. First responders attended to him iced his hand and offered him ibuprofen for the swelling. The area of the palm closest to the thumb was swollen and the wrist was bruised and burned a little from friction. He could feel a burning sensation inside that palm area. He was taken to [REDACTED] by the shift manager and the safety technician who are both first responders.
