Employee placed hand in the line of fire and actuated the foot pedal to cycle the machine. The safety came down and allowed the machine to cycle. The microswitch in the safety ring system failed and allowed the machine to cycle with the operators hand in the line of fire. [REDACTED] reported incident immediately.
