What happened
I was in the process of completing an IV insertion as I was removing the IV I did not retract the needle fast enough and was scrapped by the tip of the needle. The area did not bleed but I immediately wash the area with soap and water applied alcohol to the are to verify broken skin and there was a burning sensation to the area. I notified my charge nurse as well as my manager. I was was then taken to employee health.
