What happened
EE states upon entering room 424A to obtain to obtain morning labs I noticed that the patient was in restraints I gently woke the patient and informed her that I was there to do her morning labs. She responded okay but don 't hurt me I procedeed with the draw. The patient remained still however she continuously said that she was being held against her will and wished to go home. While drawing the patient suddenly lifted her right leg and kicked me in the back of the head This caused me to lose balance and withdraw the needle from her hand The needle made contact with my thigh but did not puncture the skin. I called for assistance the nurse informed me that the patient had been combative.
