Checking that his load was secured.

Driver was pulled in at a rest stop to spend the night in his sleeper. He opened the trailer door to check his load to ensure everything was still secured. In the process of closing the door the driver 's feet slipped on the icy pavement. He put his left hand down to catch himself and his right hand was still on the door handle as it was coming down. The door came down on his left hand that he put down to catch himself from falling. He has cuts on all four fingers and significant swelling in his whole hand.
