What happened
The patient had removed their stat lock securing their foley catheter. I explained the process of replacing it and the patient was agreeable to having this replaced and allowed me to clean the area and apply skin prep. When applying the sticker the patient suddenly became agitated and grabbed my hand wrist area very hard. When he let go after a minute or so a nurse who witnessed the event explained the procedure again to the patient and he again agreed to it. The second time he grabbed me hard and would not allow me to free myself for around 10-15 seconds.
