Administering medication to patient

Sliding scale insulin and Lantus administered to pt in back of right arm. Sliding scale insulin given first plunger fully depressed and needle retraction click felt. Lantus was given next. Again plunger fully depressed and needle retraction click. Syringes were being placed in sharps bin when one syringe was caught on the edge (probably d t needle) and stuck this RN in the right palm. Syringe was inspected and found to have needle not retracted at all. Charge RN notified.
