What happened
RN was administering [REDACTED] using VanishPoint syringe. RN prepared site on pt 's abdomen inserted needle into pt and began to depress plunger. Medication sprayed back at RN and entered her right eye syringe was placed aside and she notified this CN. RN was assisted to med room to flush her eye per protocol. RN stated she felt fine no injury was noticed by her. Pt was checked and was not harmed. Syringe was inspected needle was found to be fully retraced and about 1 3 of medication missing from syringe. House sup and manager notified. RN left message with Employee Health.
