What happened
Surgeon was passing back used suture needle clamped in needle driver after tagging tissue on patient. Needle wasn 't fully guarded and my hand slipped due to bodily fluids slippery tissue on gloves. point of needle punctured base of index finger on right hand. No serious injury. I passed the needle driver and suture off the field and changed both under glove and top glove on my right hand to continue the procedure. Once surgery was completed I doffed washed my hands and went to my [REDACTED].
