Flipping a block over on table with tongs attached to jib crane

Operator was flipping a block (weight - 285 lbs) from end to end (block size 4x18x25). The operator stated that he brought the block out of the machine and set it down on the skid he repositioned his tongs to be able to flip the block to the other end he had his hand around the block just to guide it and for some reason the jib crane swung around and the trolly traveled back toward the pole and during this process the block slipped out of the tongs. He was pulling his hand out of the way of the block but it fell onto the tips of his middle and ring fingers on his left hand.
