What happened
[REDACTED]: The third shift associate used a step ladder and mounted truck steps to enter the bed of the truck on the street side to use the console controls to move the digger derrick boom. The first control console did not work the associate moved to the second console on the curb side. When that console did not work the associate used the mounted steps to egress the bed of the truck on the curb side without the use of a step ladder. The distance to the ground was further than the associate thought causing them to fall.
