The employee back away from the machine a moment and when he turned back towards the machine he placed his left hand on top of the machine guard and suddenly snached his hand back. After further investigating it appeared the left hand middle finger folded into the machine guard where the gears were causing the employee to react by snatching his hand away from the machine.
