What happened
Employee was in the cab of Engine 81 working on getting the [REDACTED] 's (selfcontained breathing apparatus) out of the cab for Fleet Maintenance to work on the fire engine. Employee grabbed [REDACTED] and turned their back to exit the vehicle they felt a stabbing pain in their lower left back. Employee reported to safety officer. Employee feels the stabbing pain in their lower left back between their ribs. Employee already has a yearly doctors checkup scheduled for today [REDACTED] employee advised they would seek the doctor 's input.
